For the first time ever, the borders between the U.S. and Australia will be bridged together through Sport, with the launch of American Footy Star (AFS), an audacious and groundbreaking, new, athletic talent search.

To create a large American fan-base for the sport of Australian Football or "Footy", and uncover potential new talent for the game, the producers of AFS will embark on a U.S. based "Talent Search" enabling the Australian Football League (AFL) to access an immense talent pool of young, American athletes ages 18-26.

Upcoming recruitment combines, including the first AFS event in Los Angeles, will select and award one athletic, skillful candidate the opportunity to win a trip to Australia, and participate in the AFL "Rookie Draft Camp" in Australia! The AFS winner will also receive mentoring in Australia ahead of the Draft Camp, from Brenton Sanderson, member of the current AFL Championship team Geelong Cats’ coaching team, and star player, and Brownlow Medalist (AFL League MVP), Jimmy Bartel.

To support the launch, the producers of AFS have created the first American DVD guide to the sport of Australian football, entitled "Footy 101". This officially licensed AFL product breaks down the rules and dynamics of the sport, in an entertaining and comprehensive fashion, and is also chock full of spectacular, authentic AFL highlights.

Footy 101 also contains a bonus chapter, featuring highlights from the biggest AFL game of the year, the AFL Grand Final, Australia's equivalent of America's Superbowl.

This DVD is destined to become the quintessential guide for any new American Footy fan, and an essential preparation tool for any AFS try out participant.
